Dimraeth Co-op: 1–8 Players, Saves & Servers Explained
Dimraeth is built to be played together — drop-in co-op for up to eight, with a save system designed so your character progress is never hostage to a friend's world.
Quick answer
Dimraeth supports solo play and online co-op for 1–8 players with drop-in/drop-out. It uses split-persistence saves: your character (level, gear, skills) is stored with you and travels between worlds, while world state (quests, map progress) belongs to the host's save. There is no local split-screen; dedicated servers are available through third-party hosts.
How co-op works
- Squad size: 1–8 players online. The whole game is completable solo; co-op simply changes the tactics
- Drop-in/drop-out: friends can join a running world without a lobby restart
- Split persistence: character progress follows the player; world progress follows the host. Spend an evening in a friend's Mirkea and your hero comes home stronger — their world keeps its own story state
- Host settings: world name, difficulty, friendly fire and personal-loot toggles, password locks
- Split-screen: not supported — co-op is online only
Dedicated servers
Don't want the world to sleep when the host logs off? Third-party providers already rent Dimraeth servers with 2–8 slots, 24/7 uptime, control panels and automatic backups. Handy for persistent guild worlds; unnecessary for casual sessions where host-and-play works fine.
Making an 8-player party work
Eight heroes is chaos unless you assign jobs. A reliable template: one Horned Vanguard holds the front, one or two casters (Echo Weaver, Elemental Ranger) control the field, a Shadow assassinates priority targets, and everyone else's pets add free status effects. Duplicate archetypes are fine — two Earthshakers can split "spread fire" and "detonate fire" duties. Build synergies are covered in the build guide.
