Dimraeth Races: Human, Minotaur & Elf — and the 1.0 Roster

Race in Dimraeth is not cosmetic. It decides your weapon identity, stat tendencies and how your class archetype plays.

EA races: 3Planned at 1.0: 8Archetypes: 9 now / 48 planned

Quick answer

Minotaur = heavy battle-axe combat and Strength scaling (easiest start). Human = sword-and-bow flexibility and ranged options. Elf = twin daggers, speed and status effects. Your race + class pair creates one of nine named archetypes — see the full table.

The three playable races

RaceWeapon identityFeelPick it if…
HumanSword and bow / crossbowBalanced, adaptable, ranged escape routesYou want flexibility and hybrid weapon + magic play
MinotaurBattle axeHeavy swings, wide melee arcs, stagger pressureYou want dependable frontline combat from level 1
ElfTwin daggersFast strings, mobility, bleeds and status effectsYou like active dodging and burst windows

Two examples of how deep the difference goes: the Minotaur Magician (Earthshaker) gains bonus Magic Damage from Strength — a stat most casters ignore — while the Elf Shadow (Night's Whisper) gets extra Stamina from Agility, fueling longer dodge chains.

Future races: what "8 races" on the store page means

The Steam store describes 8 races × 6 classes = 48 archetypes. That is the 1.0 target, not the Early Access content — Mudtek's forum moderators have confirmed EA ships with 3 races and 3 classes, and players asking "where are the rest" were pointed to the roadmap. The official FAQ lists two race/class updates before Act 2 (2027), without dates.

Race names discussed by the community as candidates include Centaur, Golem, Dwarf, Fairy, Troll and Griffon — treat these as unconfirmed until Mudtek's patch notes say otherwise. We will update this page the day they land.

Lore corner: why these races?

Mirkea's story is built on the war between the Human Kingdom of Aldoria and the Minotaur Empire of Xwin, with Elves caught between them — the three launch races mirror the setting's three peoples. The sanctuary city of Dimraeth itself was founded by a human and a minotaur who deserted that war.

FAQ

What races are playable in Dimraeth right now?
Three: Human, Minotaur and Elf. The store page's 8 races are the 1.0 target; two race/class updates are planned before Act 2.
Does race matter in Dimraeth or is it cosmetic?
It matters a lot. Race sets your weapon identity (sword/bow, battle axe, or twin daggers), stat interactions and your archetype's skill tree and passive.
Can I change race after character creation?
No — in the Early Access launch build, race, class and appearance are permanent once created.
